Below is a quote from Andrew Prochnow, an early student of Dan Harden, which we agree with:
"Aiki is the result of one training their own body to be in unison with itself. Structure gives the Aiki a clear pathway to follow. Relaxation enables Aiki to travel through that structure. Intent is what fuels the Aiki in the body. When one comes into contact with one who has trained their body. Aiki is what is seen when the two meet."
In other words, Aiki is the union of opposites (yin-yang) within one's own body. When confronted with external energy, the Aiki body joins the energy into one energy within the body and then controls both as one.
At E-Town Aiki Kurabu, we focus on the development of the Aiki body through a coordinated mind and body that enables whole body connection via the conditioning of the fascia, ligaments, and tendons that manifests into soft power.
